The Supreme Court of Lithuania shall be the cassation instance for:

• decisions, judgments and rulings of the Court of Appeal, passed in the appellate instance court;
• decisions, judgments and rulings of county courts, passed in the first instance court.

The Supreme Court shall form uniform judicial practice in applying laws.

The Supreme Court shall consist of the Chairperson, chairpersons of divisions and judges.

The Supreme Court shall contain the Divisions of Civil Cases, Criminal Cases and the Supreme Court Senate.

The number of judges in the Supreme Court of Lithuania shall be set by the Seimas on the proposal of the President of the Republic, as recommended by the Chairperson of the Supreme Court.
